David Guetta has long said that his ambition is to work with the best talent, regardless of their stature. Often that means the most accomplished; they are superstars for a reason. But his recent forays and his biggest selling track off ‘Nothing But The Beat’ is ‘Titanium’ with Sia; a time respected artist, but working with Guetta has catapulted her – and him – to another level worldwide. He has the golden touch right now.
‘Just One Last Time’, is a track that has been touching the heart of clubbers as David road-tested it this summer. It’s his personal choice for his next single. It features talented Swedish newcomers, Taped Rai, who have never released a record before. We said catapault before; this is a sling-gun! They just shot their first ever video in LA with David and did their very first interview on set. David is well-known for spotting, supporting, embracing and breaking new talent; Afrojack and now Nicky Romero. Lending his success to help those he believes will shine. He has created an incredible remix package from his peers, like Tiesto to Hard Rock Sofa, whose sound he loves to drop.
David Guetta, continues his stellar year by winning Favorite Artist in the newly created Electronic Dance Music (EDM) category at the 2012 American Music Awards which aired two nights ago on ABC.
“I’m so happy, I’m so honoured! Thank you so much, this is the very first electronic music award at the AMAs, so it’s a big deal! It’s wonderful also to see that electronic music is finally recognized at that level in the U.S.” said an enthusiastic Guetta during an acceptance speech recorded backstage at a gig in Brazil.
The AMA win comes just one week after Guetta picked up the MTV Europe Music Award for favorite EDM artist.
Ranked on Rolling Stones recent Top 25 DJ list, the venerable music magazine said “No one has done more to make EDM part of the pop universe than David Guetta.”
